This show is SO BAD. Whenever I accidentally see a few minutes of it, I can't help laughing - and not in a good way. It's painfully dumb. No wonder it was canceled, yes, but I have to wonder how it ever made it past the pilot in the first place?

(Yes, it airs on Swedish TV. They make a point of only buying really awful TV shows.)

I couldn't believe how bad the show was. Also, I feel sorry for the actors - how could they have found something good to say about it in interviews????

I'd heard it was bad. I hadn't realised it was quite that bad. At least in previous versions people have actually looked right for their characters, even if the acting of many of the leads has been, um, variable.

Thank you for giving the rundown on the series so that I never ever need to watch it myself. Because I adore Flash Gordon - I have collections of the original Alex Raymond newspaper strips, the Buster Crabbe films, and the 1980 remake with the Queen soundtrack and Max Von Sydow as Ming (and any Ming that doesn't look just like him is made of extreme wrongness).

This version doesn't even have spaceships with rivets to get them between Earth and Mongo. What's the point of that?

I am quite horrified at how bad this series was. Not only did it look cheap, it was kind of badly acted, too. I can't believe it lasted a whole season!!! Sometimes I'm quite baffled at how some shows last as long as they do and other shows that I think are GOOD get axed! FG was axed in the end, but you'd think it wouldn't have made it past the pilot stage!

I thoughjthe same thing after the begininbg of the first episode but after watching it I didn't think the sreies was all that bad, plus it had some interesting characters, plot twists and tension later in the series.
