You're welcome. It's an extremely fascinating book. I doubt there's much reason for an Irish person to be interested in Vietnam except from an academic point of view - although presumably a lot of the Aussie soldiers were of Irish extraction :D My family escaped from Vietnam the day Saigon fell and the Vietnam war is still quite relevant in Australia so it's a subject in which I have a great deal of personal interest.
I think one of the big holes in my education was history of the modern Far East, which means that I don't have frame of reference for anything after the opium wars up to American involvement in Vietnam, which strikes me as a bit problematic sometimes - it's this huge swathe of unknown history to me.
