Updates with pictures. Puppy pictures too!

Jun 10, 2008 18:51

So... it's been a really long while since I updated this thing. Prepare for long long update, because there has been a lot going on. Hence the lack of updates, oh surprise. ~.^

BTW, you can also just skip the huge amounts of text and just go to look at the pictures. House renovations and puppy pictures are in there towards the end.

Life has been....eventful... )

Congrats on the teaching license nonetheless!!

Also... PICS OF THE HOUSE! I've been wondering about that for a while actually. :P

I'll post pics of my house once I move in in late July.

Sorry to hear the situation your granddad is in. I wish I could say something more comforting than that... I've been going through sort of a similar situation with my grandmother, who's been in a nursing home for a few months. Her memory is going pretty badly, and it's tough for me to go visit because she doesn't really remember when people have been there, how they know she's there, etc...

I understand the purpose of nursing homes... but I still don't care for them. When Dad was dying under hospice care at home, it made me realize how much it really did mean to him to be able to die at home and not in a hospital. Grandma never qualified for a nursing home, they didn't have the money and Grandpa was stubborn and wouldn't take her name off the accounts and the house until it was far too late. If she had been admitted to a nursing home Grandpa would have lost the house ( ... )

Congratulations on the house and the license, hon!

I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. :/ My Dad recently told me that my grandma is starting to forget things, which has me a little scared.

I'm glad things are generally well for you, though.

The hardest thing when Grandma started her decline from Alzheimer's was that my Grandpa and my Uncle did not recognize it soon enough. They didn't take her to the doctors to have the condition treated until it was well... until it was too late. Mom was furious for a while until Dad reasoned with her about it... Grandma was always a little not there in the head, so for Grandpa and Uncle who saw her every day it didn't seem that odd that she was being a little more forgetful than usual. Alzheimer's can be delayed if it is caught early enough and things are done. It's still scary, and it still hurts. But the sooner you catch it, the better.

*nod* I'm going to suggest to my parents that they have her checked, although she IS 90+ years old.

The other issue that they had was that my grandpa pulled her out of the day care that she was going to. She was doing so-so until they did that. Interaction and activity is wonderful for them. Grandpa was just too stubborn. .-.
