It is simply amazing how fast all my free time can vanish when I study Korean. Good thing too, since Dad crushed my dreams of teaching myself accordion (just kidding). Maybe if I sign on for another year I'll use my trip home to pick up the accordion and an instructional DVD

The worst part is that their english is terrible. Nobody says that, and I've talked to enough nationalities about these books here to be fairly sure of that. The stupid national exams mean I can't just teach to where the kids are, which is the worst part. And even in Reed language class, you spend at least 3 days on one lesson. I get these kids for 40 minutes per week, and each week they have a new lesson! It's insane. No wonder there were a couple attempted suicides last year. They built a "Youth Encouragement Center" across from the school to try and combat youth depression...it's fucked up.
