Wool Purchase?

I am taking the step to nature fibers and ditching the acrylics. I have a few patterns in mind, but I have a question about swapping yarn. When swapping yarns, you're gonna want to swap for a yarn that has a similar number of stitches per inch, listed on the label. If you swap for a yarn with more stitches per inch (finer), your project will come out smaller; or if you swap for a yarn with less stitches per inch, your project will come out larger unless you feel confident in figuring out the math to convert to the yarn you're now using.

Thanks for all the info & experience you have shared with me!
And the winner is .....(drum roll).....Paton's Classic Merino Wool. I spent the day roaming around a few lys. I bought Woodrose Heather. I also picked up a few hanks of lace yarn for The Snowdrop Shawl & sock yarn. Kinda bought a lot more than I was planning, but very happy with all of it & excited to start the new projects. I should have done this a long time ago!
