Disclaimer: Primeval belongs to Impossible Pictures. Certainly not me. Writing for fun and will replace.
A/N 1: For the P100 challenge 319: Money Money Money. Part 8 of my Strange Bedfellows drabble series and follows on from Regrets.
A/N 2: From the lyrics: 'I've seen the future, I can't afford it' from How to be a millionaire by ABC. Cheers to Fred for looking it over for me.

As pleasurable as annoying the insufferable man and his thuggish sidekick was, Helen knew she couldn't afford to lose this chance to change the future. “Unless the ARC changes, this will be our future.”

James quirked an eyebrow. “I seem to recall the last time you blamed someone for the end of the world, you killed him.”

“A mistake,” Helen stated calmly. “The loss of Nick, of Stephen, didn't change things for the better.”

“And my loss?”

“You're ousted in a coup.”

“Who?”

“Unimportant. We can't afford not to act, James. We must change the future, no matter the cost.”
