James couldn't decide which was worse, the squishing beneath his feet or the woman's glare burning a hole in his back. The sooner he escaped this dank darkness, the better. He'd lose the woman and find Connor again; although changing one bad-tempered woman for another wouldn't be good for his health.
James turned a corner, gasping at the flickering light, for a moment fearing it was another anomaly before he realised it was the light of the full moon shining through a grill in the ceiling.
He climbed the ladder and stepped out to find himself face-to-face with ARC security.
