Yes, you are so hooked now! I knew that was coming. Anime has away of doing that to people. ^_^
Fruits Basket is a shoujo manga(shoujo means girl), and they are famous for their hinting at men being bi or gay. It seems that females in Japan have a thing about two guys being a couple, which can range from just hinting at homosexuality to graphic behavior.
In the manga, it is never really stated if Shigure is truely bi or not. He is just protrayed as a pervert. So you are not seeing anything in the anime that, most likely, hasn't been protrayed in the manga.
What other animes can you recommmend? Besides InuYasha, Bleach, Fruits Basket, and Naruto, I've found Wolf's Rain and Mermaid's Forest. Haven't watched either of the last 2 yet, but I plan to. That gives you a little idea of what interests me. Any recommendations?
At this point, I could really recommend more manga than anime, but I'll give it a try.
I think you might like Ceres: Celestial Legend. It's pretty high on my favs list. In both the manga and the anime, it is a great story. If you are looking for a fansub of it, it will be called Ayashi no Ceres.
Love Hina is a fun one. Chobits is good. If you want something that is philosophical, Ghost in the Shell is good. His and Hers Circumstances is good. It's known as Kare Kano in the manga.
If you do want to branch out into the manga someday, I highly recommend Mars by Fuyumi Soryo and Maison Ikkoku by Rumiko Takahashi(the creator of Inuyasha).
Seems like I read a synopsis of Ceres a couple of days ago, and thought it sounded good.
Thanks for the recommendations :) One thing I plan to do is buy the mangas for the anime shows I like. That will definitely keep me busy for a while LOL. But it's just easier (and cheaper!) to deal with anime right now, since I can find downloads and streaming videos for free.
