The Final Countdown
7 more days of class. 3 days of final exams.

Took the senior class to Bellingrath Gardens Monday, to take the class photo, superlatives, officers, and other assorted yearbook-related photos. Other than a couple of student bound and determined to commit homicide on every snake they saw, and other than having to listen to those same students make stupid, nonstop asinine comments all day, it was a good trip. Of 28 students, only 3 gave me any problems, so I think that's okay, all things considered. It's very likely we'll do this again next year, but at least next year's senior class only has 18 students :)
Still working on both yearbooks. I'm working on them as much as possible, but it's hard to get much accomplished during the week. I can't work on them this weekend, though, because it's my nephew's 2nd birthday and we're going up to spend the weekend with my brother.
My love of InuYasha has led me to check out other anime series. I've watched a couple of episodes of Naruto on TV, but the voice of the title character grates on my nerves, really bad. So the other day, Hope was watching a fan-subbed version of an episode, and the Japanese voice of the Naruto character wasn't nearly as high-pitched and annoying. I actually enjoyed the episode. So if I get to the point where I can watch that show, it'll definitely be the subtitled version, not the dubbed.
I've also checked out Bleach and Fruits Basket. In fact, I've managed to watch all 26 episodes of FB. In spite of the fact that I had to pause one particular episode while I broke down in tears from laughing so hard, I'm still ambivalent regarding the series. By the end, I wanted to shake some sense into Tohru, but at the same time, I understand that if she was any other way, she wouldn't have the effect that she has on others.
And I still can't figure out if Shigure is bi (hey, he has a thing for high school girls, so I know for sure he likes the opposite sex), or if he acts the way he does around Yuki's older brother just to mess with Yuki and Kyo's minds. Maybe someone who has read the manga can enlighten me :)
I've watched 6 episodes of Bleach (dubbed versions). I'm enjoying it so far. And finding these other shows that I enjoy makes me want to check out others...dang it, there's just not enough time in the day! :)
Gearing up for summer school even as I wind up the regular school year. I need the money to pay for the classes I have to take to get my teacher certification. After last year's fiasco with summer school, I took the time to write up some rules and such, including a contract that the students and parents have to sign. Hopefully this will take care of some of the problems I ran into last year.
One good thing tomorrow is that 2 of my classes will be gone on a field trip, so I'll have some time to work on grading and maybe even work on one of the yearbooks. I can hope :)
