So, I'm working on DUST. I have a bad feeling it's going to be longer and slightly darker than I originally thought. This isn't a bad thing, though. Just a thing that I thought that I thought wrong about.

Now for a quibble. I'm not exactly sure what year Spike's Desoto is (late 50s maybe), but I don't think you could open the trunk without a key back then. However, I could be completely wrong.

"That's kind of an obscure detail if you don't own the car, but the best I can figure is that the 59 Desoto Fireflite (not Fireflyte) probably had an electric trunk release that could be activated from the interior of the car. No doubt a fancy do-dad option. I reach this conclusion based not on some infinite knowledge of all things Desoto, but because I found a 59 Desoto remote trunk release relay available as a repair part on the web. Chrysler products were well-known for having many push-button conveniences built into the dashboards in the late 50's and early 60's. So my guess is that it would have been a relay activated electric button in the dash, but where in the dash is something that someone with a more intimate knowledge of vintage Desotos should answer."
