Thanks to sapphohestia, I spent at least part of this morning going through images in the Frank M. Hohenberger photograph collection, which has an amazing array of photos from the early half of the 1900s, from surreal to workaday to historic to archaic to surprisingly modern-seeming. Worth a browse, at the least

Thanks for those links, Kyle. I've been thinking a lot about voice acting lately (and would love to get into it myself), and it'll figure prominently in the novel I'm working on.

don't forget Billy West, who (among other things) has done voices for Ren and Stimpy (Stimpy and, ultimately, Ren) and Futurama (Frye), as well as appearing in the excellent Comic Book: The Movie with Mark Hamill.
