It's April 1, so the Internet is broken. All sorts of stupid things are up all over the place. For instance:

I kind of appreciate the Holder decision. It says a lot about his commitment to the rule of law, even if Stevens should go away.

re all the foolish stuff: I kind of want to believe (not that it's a good thing), that the Ukrainians responsible for Conficker, wanted to do some subtle social engineering today.

sgi: sadface.

I'd feel sadder about SGI if they hadn't eaten Cray. I always thought Cray was cool, and it made me sad that it was devoured by another corporate entity.

It's true. Although Cray was doing its damnedest to eat itself before it got eaten by SGI.

Also the Republicans released their budget proposal, which belongs on April Fool's day more than anywhere else: http://www.prospect.org/csnc/blogs/ezraklein_archive?month=04&year=2009&base_name=the_opposite_of_no_numbers_is

Short story: allow everyone to choose between a 25% tax rate or the current tax system (which is more like 33% for certain income levels) but project everyone will keep the current system for revenue calculations
And: Avoid soaring healthcare costs by turning Medicare and Medicaid into a voucher that has the government just giving out a set amount of money.
