Ok. I will, thanks. I was trying to be careful, but that is what happens when the piece of wood (a smallish piece) hangs out after it's past the blade and you don't get the saw shut off or the wood safely away soon enough.

It's hard to tell just from a photo, but that large gouge looks like it should be looked at. I know you're pretty tough and used to getting hurt on the job, but that looks a little nasty. Stitches and a tetanus shot, maybe? Or just a light dressing?

I saw a little white rim of fat maybe, but I believe it's just in the skin. It should be ok. Thanks for your concern. Maybe I'll show it again when it's cleaned up.

Worst power tool accident I've ever had was when I was chamfering off an edge with a router My shirt got sucked into the bit and in about .001 second the razor sharp blade was heading for my belly. Scared the living piss out of me, but never touched me.
