I'd say his first step needs to be breaking out of the mindset that it's someone else's job to "sort out his life." He needs to get that done himself before he has any hope of being in a healthy relationship.

And yeah, every Christian church I've ever heard of has singles' groups. He'd probably have much better luck going that route, unless he wants to use, say, the computers at his local library to keep up with his online dating account.

Oh good, I wasn't the only one skeeved out by the "I need someone else to help sort out my life" business.

The only person I need help with sorting my life out is my therapist, thanks.

You know, I'd totally forgotten that libraries often have computers and that internet cafes exist. If he's determined to take an online route that would be an option ( ... )

Had the same concerns, agree with all of this. But when I'm pondering now is if he basically just wants to get laid (and I know this may sound naive of me lol), why search out a Christian girl in particular? Most I know at least pay lip service to waiting til they're married for hanky panky. I find this curious, that is all :-p

Meh, wanting another person to help you sort out your life isn't doing a relationship any good... Also... don't libraries up there have computers he could use?
