I just took a walk around the property to check on the mountain laurels. Many of them are hugely in bud, and the ones that aren't in bud are hugely in new leaves. I've got pictures of that later. Looks nice and private. That's something our place is missing. It's about 4 acres so it's big but it doesn't really feel private anywhere. This is a busy property.

At the moment it is *incredibly* private. It's only just shy of an acre, but you'd never know. The previous owners planted evergreens between us and the neighbors, so you can't even see them. At least until the wooly adelgids kill them. Who knows - maybe they'll hold out until the DEP finds a biological control.
The next big thing I want to do out there is build an arbor under the creeping hydrangea at the end of the deck. The old tree trunk it's growing on is all but gone, and it's too damn pretty to let it go "thud" in some
