Just an update on Ursa. We dropped her off at the stud's kennel and left her for two weeks. She was mated 3 times starting on January 4th, so that makes around March 7th for puppies if the mating took. We won't know until February 11th when she goes to get a sonogram done. By then we will know if she is indeed pregnant and possible how many puppies ( Read more... ) -

Ursa came into season this week, which means we are going to drop her off at a stud in PA. She'll be away for maybe two weeks while she gets laid. If all goes to plan puppies will be early to mid March. Then off to new homes in early to mid May. Not the timing we were hoping for (early), but we don't want to wait any longer. FRANKEN-PUPPY
Orion is doing well, but is hurting. She usually comes running down the stairs to greet me when I come home, but yesterday she stayed up in Jan's office and wagged her tail only slightly when she saw me. It hurts her to wag her tail. When I got on the floor to greet her, she just buried her face in my shoulder and cried for 5 minutes.

Torn Ligaments
Orion, our oldest Black Lab has a torn ACL ligament in her right knee and was operated on yesterday. They kept her overnight for observation and she comes home today. The operation went well, it was a complete tear and they used some sinew from her muscle to replace the ligament. Recovery means no jumping, running or playing for 6 weeks. This is ( Read more... ) -
