Oh, I miss you so much and I'm sorry I didn't get to see you in Ithaca. I got on the bus that morning rather late and tired and soaking wet from a naked swim in a river, and it was so so cold in the air conditioning all the way to the city, and all I thought to carry on the bus with me was a basket of peaches. everyone in port authority stared at me with my basket. I felt like i was providing something important for them, somehow, proving that there are still peculiar country people who live somewhere other than new york city and by god they have peaches.
