It’s always been me belief that he started “hating” Conrart not really because of a betrayal, but to protect himself. He’d seen what happened to Dan Hiri when he got old and passed away, and perhaps unconsciously he feared that if he remained close to Conrart that Conrart would get old and die, or leave them like Dan Hiri did (I’m sure Gwen told him ALL about it…) and then Wolfram would be hurt.
That's exactly the impression I got, too. Poor little Wolfram is made up of a myriad of defense mechanisms. And what's really great about the progression of this series is, we've been able to see Wolfram slowly open up and begin to care for people without fear... <3
you know... i'm sure i thought of it before... but cuz i'm half asleep...
if she'd been like, married to her middle son's daddy for well, as long as conrart'd been alive let's say, she totally slept with someone else to get us a wolfie >< that really kinda makes me sad T_T but what a forgiving man?
and learning to knit from anissina... man, what troubles he got himself into XD but since that LOOKED like a penguin, i'm gonna say anissina made that :p unless it's not a penguin but an otter.
I really, really, really love this episode... like, a lot... I have no words to describe how much I love it.
At first it was just because you get to see all three brothers when they're young, and they're just so completely adorable, but then I paid attention to the actual story and fell in love with it even more. :D I think it's one of the best out of ... well... all of them.
I didn't like this episode very much the first time I saw it... it takes a while for me to warm up to a new/obscure character (Dan Hiri in this case). But after watching a second time, I agree that this episode is awesome. When you know in advance about the twist - that Dan Hiri was actually an old man through much of the episode - so much of the dialogue started to make sense. Like when Wolfram was all surprised when Conrad & Dan Hiri came back, and when the villagers were telling Dan Hiri to rest.
