Final Days of Points

Jun 24, 2009 18:53

My lovely co-mod, crystaltear will be retiring from kkm_challenge. In an effort to streamline the community to make it easier to run, I will also be retiring the points system.

Round 40 will be the last round to award points*. You have until July 19 to redeem your points.

If someone were, say, interested in volunteering to co-mod, or perhaps even more than one 'someones' might form some sort of democratic rating committee to take the pressure from you and ease the burden, would it be possible to continue the point system? Perhaps if that 'someone' were to ante up the prizes as well? Not to be coy, and not to be forward, but I enjoy this so much & hate to lose it, and a large part of the enjoyment comes from the challenge of attempting to earn points from my peers. I know I'm not the best candidate to help out by any means, but I am sincere :>
Just a thought...comment here or on my LJ if it's a good one. Thanx!

I have all ready read your reply to tigersilver, but I just wanted to give my imput as well. I have only entered one challenge, but I do believe that the point system somehow motivates a person to do better on a theme. For myself, I was determined to draw a background just so I could get one more point. I think it helps people try harder and in away better's them in that effort. Though it may be a selfish effort, I do believe that the point system has played a role in bringing about better submission. As for myself I never got to take advantage of redeeming my points because I only recently discovered these community and could not earn enough points for a basic prize.
I am sad that the point system will be eliminated.

I'm glad the point system did encourage you. It would be sad if there hadn't been any benefits of it! And I appreciate the input even if I'm going to proceed with this course for now. Thanks and I hope you continue to participate!
