New Project: The Body Double

Sep 01, 2011 00:44

I'm still trying to drag my house into a state of order (or at least to beat back the tides of entropy to the point where I feel more comfortable having people in to visit), but I've increased the time-table & effort.

I got excellent help from Jen Hunter of Find Your Floor, AKA findyourfloor -- she's really worth the money! She and I did 15 hours of work over ( Read more... )

getting things done, gardening, adhd, clean-up, organize, body double, cleaning, gtd, add, to do, clean, 15-minutes

I love Jen's business name! :-)

It's been ages since I've seen you. I'd love to volunteer for a couple of hours, after we get back from vacation next week, if you'll have me.

It's a great name, isn't it?

I actually have enough volunteers for this round. Then I'm probably going to switch back to working with Jen, then maybe another round of body double sessions, we'll see.

But thank you for offering!

I'm sort of interested in this topic as it describes how my family of birth almost always interacted. We would each be doing our own things but preferentially in the same space with line of sight to each other.

Mine too! Y'know what's weird, it putting a family like ours in a camp with a family that MUST DO STUFF TOGETHER like play board games. And while I don't mind board games, their inability to relax was weird.

I think that those families think of the intense competitive gaming stuff as "relaxing". By contrast sometimes people tease me about my in ability to "just relax" by which they mean the fact that I usually want to be doing _something_ whether it's reading a book or fidgeting or having a conversation. People who can "just hang out" and do nothing at all confuse me.

Yay!

Sorry I can't be one of your volunteers, but this is such an excellent step. Good stuff. :)

Encouragement helps! Lord knows I need as much of that as possible. So you ARE part of the program. Thanks!
