it really gave me a nice feeling, how you describe all the things not too detail but detail enough for me to imagine, great work! :> my favorite part is all the tomatoes! hahah XD and when kame checked his voice mail, i'm so moved :') thank you for writing this! ♥
Oh. Oh, this was breathtaking. I wanted it to never end, and reading the last line for me was like waking up - your characters, your descriptions, your words are just mesmerizing. Was going to leave a comment on each part but I got so caught up in it that I had to keep going, and I just. I love how introspective and exploratory this was - it's not often Kame is spun into a situation like this and how you chose to portray him losing himself and regaining footing, the way you struck a balance between his relentless strength and the insecurities he's got layered inside - god, so brilliant, and so many feelings evoked that it aches. It's so raw, so eloquent, so provoking.
Having been to London and Paris, I love love that you made me taste them again, from the visual to the emotions. I know they're popular choices for settings but it's so rare to find something that captures them as beautifully as you did, especially with how Kame's reactions to each site unfolds. You worked Melanie in wonderfully... "no tomatoes" was my favorite piece of

Wow, so much angst. Or maybe it was only me. ^^;; But it was amazing the way you got into Kame and built his as a character and how he would break if it were to happen. And how you complemented the situation on Jin's side. The traveling was wonderfully descript in every location (I wonder if anon has been there or it's just only research) and how all the sightseeings framed Kame's mood and his interaction with Jin.
It really got me enthralled on a long travel of my own: I cried, laughed and was amazed through it.
i do love this. i really do. i can feel both the physical and mental journey Kame is taking, and that's important to the flow of this fic-- the component that makes you keep reading. Not because you want to know how it ends up, but because you want to know how they get there. some of the sentences are really gorgeous and spell-casting: more than anything, i love to get lost in lovely prose, and there were several points where I just stopped and thought "what a well-crafted sentence." and the parts when i didn't do that were only because i was too involved with the narrative to step back and think of anything technical, because it's hard to think technical when something tugs deliciously on your heart. you can definitely tell, dear, that this was a labour of love, and it shows in the deliberation behind every line- nothing extra, nothing clouding the way, every phrase intrinsic to the story you seek to tell.
Everyone seems to think that Kame's strong and brave and in control. They don't realize that it's just him trying to exert some modicum of control over the insignificant things in his life that he actually can control. Ow, just ow... I think that's about where my heart started breaking and it never stopped...
Kame smiles until his cheeks ache. And then he smiles some more. Ah, yeah, yeah... and this too...
He ends up watching the mostly silent comedy of Mr. Bean and laughing until he's nearly crying. This, I do not even know why... just...
He follows the path he had marked out long ago, during childish daydreams. Walking those paths now feels bittersweet, but he has his guidebook and his camera. That's enough. For now. It's really hard to choose what to quote too - because I could quote paragraphs just easily - and it still won't be enough. And also the sense of really seeing it all - like a muted European movie, all half-tones and long beautiful shots...
He finds himself both wanting to linger and take his time and wanting to
