I'm a total sucker for fics with extratextual elements - the notes, the cards the script pages - and these were executed so well that this was just lsdfajkla;dfd like candy to me. And that of course is not even to mention the lovely writing. :) I agree with the above commenter, that the ending isn't necessarily sad. It's bittersweet, but not bleak, because even if it wasn't how we or they once thought things would end up, there was resolution. And that's what seems to be missing so often, with this group.

Anyway, this was a lovely read and I'm so happy to have it as part of K-X. <3

oh wow. i guess a huge part of me is delighted to have read this is because you kept their relationship so close, very close to canon and it can only mean one thing -- it drives people to remember their own relationships and mirroring that with that of kame & jin's (or what could possibly be theirs). this is a very, very contemplative piece, and every element in it, the pictures, the postcards, the letters (of course, you can hit me on the head if this turns out to be false), added to the subtlety of your writing. like you had written in your fic, the loudest, most obvious extras in here only served to accentuate the more silent but very powerful sense of realism. seldom is a fic this effective in reminding people why they have shipped akame in the first place; having seen many threw away the ship due to ..recent happenings and their own perceived feelings for..any half of the equation. i rambled, but why yes i have greatly enjoyed this piece and couldn't think of any better way to kick start the exchange

It took me a while to write anything, but I've had to calm myself a bit.

Dear Anon-san! My heart is on the verge of refusing working for me, because after any of that sad fic it has really tough job with keeping me alive. But somehow it's good once in a while read something like that - their journey, where they're so close, yet so far, so together and so apart. When you know, that as lovers they're ideal, that friendship is only the beginning, but the reality doesn't let you fulfill that particular need of being with your soulmate.

I know I make no sense, but that's the state of incoherence I'm in right now. And somehow everything is right.

This is such a perfect start for this exchange. This fic broke my heart in so many ways. I love everything about it, how Kame couldn't exactly say what he really wanted and JIn was no better. The ending was just a final note for them but so open at the same time. The notes/pieces of everything made the impact of the emotions too real. This is a very wonderful piece. Heartbreaking yet full of hope.
