Week 8- Last island summary!
Saturday- In the evening Proyecto Picaflor hosted a dinner for the Hummingbird Society guys as thanks for their interest and donation. The dinner was at Chupa´s house and I offered to make some banana bread as a contribution. I baked it up at the house while Deb went to get a bottle of wine to take along. Week 7
Saturday- Things went pretty slowly as usual in the morning, but I’ve really come to enjoy waking up, reading in bed, making tea or a milo and typing my weekly letter in a small sunny patch that hits my bed about 9:30. Week 6
Saturday night- After using the computer I came back to the house with Maria to discover that Marcelo was burning our trash and all the smoke was blowing into my clothes that were out to dry. I left them out over night, and when I brought them in Sunday, they seemed ok without any smell. It was probably windy enough overnight to blow out any ( Read more... ) -

Week 4
Saturday- I sent emails until pretty late (maybe only 830 or 9, but it was dark and cold) and nothing much happened the rest of the day. Erin was having allergy problems and I gave her some of my Allegra and my generic SinusPM stuff and she pretty much passed out. Saturday- I finished In Search of Robinson Crusoe which was a really quick read and cool to read while here because I know about the areas he was talking about. I started reading Gravity’s Rainbow, which is my last book until packages arrive with more or I get one from the library ( Read more... ) -

whoo hoo! i just finished my last day of work. tomorrow morning i'm headed up to my dad's in ogden, ut. there was some excitement yesterday when a semi-truck carrying mining explosives jack-knifed, caught fire then blew up creating a crater 30 ft deep and 70 ft wide in the middle of one of the roads i'm supposed to drive tomorrow. luckily ( Read more... ) -
