oh honey. I'm so sorry. This sounds similar to what happened to my grandad a year ago. I think he collapsed, went into the hospital for 3-4 weeks in the cardiac wing.
I think you should go on your trip, unless you're going to be worried the whole weekend. I guess what I'm getting at is you probably have time for a 3-4 day trip.
