Cukes, Civic Duty, and Sorrowful Tidings
My cuke plant is humongous. the other day i was joking it was plotting to take over my house. well, it did. it wrapped it's little tendrils around the porch supports. i think it's coming for me.
Was dismissed from jury duty today after 3 hours. the case was boring (landlord suing a tenant for rent due), but i would have liked to see how it all worked out.
And now for the sad part of the post. Maybe I told some of you when we were at the restaurant after the river, my parents called to tell me my grandma had fallen. She didn't break anything, but her bloodwork was really unstable and she had a respirator so they kept her in the ICU until today. She's currently stable, talking, and out of the ICU, but her kidneys and liver are beginning to fail. In other words, the beginning of the end. We're supposed to leave for a long weekend in Asheville tomorrow morning, but I don't know what I'm gonna do. I'm sitting here with a stiff drink waiting for the revelation.
