I've read her books; she gives some excellent advice. My main problem seems to be that I am a terrorist... but the only person I persecute is myself. I worry about all sorts of things that may never happen and catastrophize small annoyances into major problems. I seem to be addicted to anxiety. In comparison, alcohol was a cake-walk. At least I have managed to forgive myself for my past mistakes. That's something, anyway. I try to get in touch with my inner child as much as I can, because my Muse tells me that that is closer to who I really am. All these anxieties and worries are all of the Ego, screaming for attention like a spoiled brat. And I tend to treat it the way most mothers today treat their screaming brats -- I give it some candy or a toy, thereby teaching it that it can get what it wants this way. What I need to learn to do is ignore this brat or find a way to metaphorically give it a "time-out". How does one send one's Ego to its room?

Some good advice here, though I might leave out the mirror work as I rarely look in a mirror if I can avoid it.

i am happy you found the post useful, and i always vote for taking what works for you and leaving the rest. that said, mirror work can be very difficult for a lot of people, and i think that is part of why it so powerful, once we get past the aversion. ;)
