Nadia subsequently missed in her swing with the mallet.

Unfortunately, her momentum was enough that she went tumbling end over end down the slope--

"Eep!"

--past the rocks to end up landing upside down against a convenient tree, her feet in the air.

If there was one thing Alphonse should've known, it was that trying to yank someone who's at least ten times stronger than you wasn't exactly the brightest of ideas. He stumbled over in her direction after she pulled him back with an audible "oomph!", then regained his balance quickly afterwards. Alphonse wasn't able to recognize whoever had swung that thing after them, and was eyeing between the rocks and the direction the other person went tumbling.

"Um," he paused. Well, whatever that was, it certainly was unexpected. "Maybe? Let's look a bit more..." And hope nobody else decided to randomly go after them.

Pippi held up the rock she saw to Al.

"See? It's a wierd color. Ya think it's our unknown element?"

Alphonse walked closer for a better view of the rock. "A lot of minerals in nature vary in many different colors," he said. "And this... looks like a normal rock to me." He frowned in thought, then turned around towards the area where the ground almost ate his foot. "I have a feeling there might be something down there. Normally the ground wouldn't be that unstable unless it's hollow underneath it."

Valter Walter sat where he was, legs splayed out in front of him, and blinked at the spinny spinny world around him.

Pippi peers into the cave and takes a flashlight out of her rucksack. She seems undeterred that the rock wasn't what they were looking for.

"Shall we then?"

Nadia blinked a bit more, then glanced over at Walter. "Did we just--" She waved her mallet vaguely. "Omigod."

Walter looked back up the hill where he could see Pippi and Al's silhouettes. "Why did we think Al was a moose?"

He thought back to dink dink dink dink and their entirely pathetic attempts at surveillance and cheerleading and began to snicker.

Alphonse continued to circle the ground, away from the first spot where he nearly fell in. He decided not to even try to walk over that portion of the ground. "Then I suppose the first thing we'd need to do is find a way to--"

Okay, so maybe it wasn't a good idea after all to start treading across the grounds, since this time he didn't have the time to pull back. Alphonse promptly fell forward and further down, and into an area flat on his face. "Ow," he weakly muttered, pushing himself up on his knees. He looked around, and... this definitely wasn't where he was seconds ago. Then he looked up, realizing there was a nice hole leading up to where he was previously. "Urgh... Pippi?"

"Al!" Pippi called to him laying down on the edge of the newly made hole.

"You okay? Take my ha..." Pippi was interrupted by a rumbly noise. "...nd?"

The ground gave way and Pippi slid down, landing next to Al on her face with her legs up in the air and her feet hovering over the back of her head. Pippi, it seems, is rather limber.

There is now a slightly wider hole leading up to where they were previously.

"Ptooowie!"

Nadia had been about to comment to Walter about Al's many moose-like qualities when the silohuettes on the hill abruptly disappeared, accompanied by a bit of yelling.

"Omigod," she said again as she tucked her mallet into her boot and went scrabbling back up the hill.

"Alphonse! Pippi! Are you alright?"

Walter scrambled up from his not-so-comfortable resting place to go see what Alphonse's Moosey Fate had been.

Huh. Hole in the ground.

"Al? Pippi? Anyone hurt?"

"I'm all right," Alphonse called up. He got to his feet and extended a hand to help Pippi up. "You okay, Pippi?"

"The only thing I've hurt is my pride..." Pippi said getting up and brushing herself off.

"Okay, actually my pride is okay too. That was fun!"
