I baby is medically a different being from his/her mother. Actually, this is one of the reasons the protective coverings in the womb are so important.

If the child is exposed to any of the mother's blood, the mother immune system will kill the 'foreign invading cells'. The mothers body will identify the child as something else.

That is part of what RH worries are about, the mothers blood should never be exposed to the child but on rare cases it is late in the pregnancy. However, even weeks before birth a little of the mother's blood can be quite dangerous.

Tell me, is there another part of your body that has separate DNA and will die if exposed to your blood?
