Have you ever tried a vegetarian diet? I lost a good bit of weight and it cleared up a lot of digestive issues I was having, too. It pretty tough though if you don't like enough fruits & veggies. I hate fruit, that was my problem.
Animals are damn tasty, though, agreed. :(
