Neither do I.

I think what Janet did is called "taking the Lord's name in vain."

It sickens me, the way we worry so much about words... and not the intentions of said words. Stopping someone from saying "nigger" doesn't stop that person from being a racist... it just forces them to either invent a new word for nigger, or to malign an existing word by fixing it with a "nigger" connotation.

There are no bad words... only bad intentions.

I agree. I think they went too far with it. I was listening to Kevin & Bean, the morning DJs on KROQ, today and they were trying to make sense of it. They made a very good comment that they would never would have bleeped "Oh Jesus" before the "Superbowl Incident."

I also think they may have done it to Janet because it was Janet. That is to say, because she caused so much controversy during the Superbowl, that the censors are or were keeping a very close watch on her to make sure that something she says or does won't cause another controversy.
