lately i've been pretending that i can jog. for about 90 seconds at a time. i can only do it with "good" songs. my list is pretty terrible, though, compared to what i listen to at most times in my life. i pulled the bpm numbers off of http://jog.fm, which has given me some new song ideas ( Read more... )

I counted out a bunch of tunes that were supposedly of the same cadence, and I found a *huge* variation (as in: 100-150 BPM for those claimed at 135). I also find running sites that say you're not even supposed to change your cadence when you change speed; you're supposed to change stride length. Augh, conflicting information! If that advice is true, then even a correct jog.fm is worthless! And I just don't know. All I know is it's more fun to run with music. :-) (Hey, do you know April Smith? Kick-ass!!)

i know the numbers aren't always quite right, but it's how i try to start looking at what might be the right rhythm, then i listen to it and see if i think i'd like it. i know if i try to jog/walk without music, i go insane, whereas when i sit on the bike, i'm happy to listen to baseball commentators and do flashcards.

you're a superstar for jogging. i hate it and am delighted that i'm not supposed to run anymore. :)

Your jog is my sprint.

Bring music to Berkshires and we can swap workout playlists!
Been loving Born This Way for runs. Try Outkast Hey Ya for tempo.
