Moving on to more pleasant news, Taiki came back. I'm glad. It ( Read more... )

Yup. I offered to help out Natalia so she let me get a job. And besides, Youko can't keep paying for everything.

The curse wasn't that bad, was it?

It was if you were the... er... "evil step sister".

Ah. Then I suppose a few apologies might be merited.

Eh... No need. It wasn't anyone's fault, just the City being the City. It just had... some awkward consequences.

I'm happy Taiki's back! Now we can ask him lots of details about his life in Hourai. But we get to be careful of not being tooo obvious.

[After Shouryuu had learned of the ocean's existence, he had made visiting the beach an almost habitual part of his daily routine. He still spent a good chunk of his time exploring the City and what it had to offer, slowly stockpiling the odd, foreign currency he earned working at Natalia's restaurant in hopes to put it to use at some entertainment hall at some time or rother; however, despite the host of new technology and "exotic" entertainment, the beach still offered him something the city never could: a certain sense of familiarity. He had spent his early years growing up along the Japan shoreline where his people had toiled to make their living on their island land. In En, things seemed to be little different. Commerce came and went, and the sea was just as vast ( ... )

[He was beginning to contemplate sleep as he found dealing with the curses made him rather tired. He was feeling particularly lazy, however, and also didn't feel like moving. But he knew he couldn't very well sleep here. Then he felt Shouryuu's presences long before the king actually spoke to him. Upon the sensation he closed his eyes and willed him gone. He wasn't sure he was ready to show his face to any of them at the moment, Shouryuu especially.

Naturally, Shouryuu did not heed his silent wishes and hr grimaced at the comment. He opened his eyes but did not move otherwise, giving him an irritated look. The look mostly lost its threat due to the blush of embarrassment that stained his face.]

Shut up. It's not like I've ever had any experience.

We could change that, [he suggested, though there was no serious intent behind it.] If you like, I could explicitly forbid you to flirt with me ever again. Keiki did infinitely better by staying mostly silent.

[He winced immediately at the thought. Trying to pursue a taiho's hand in marriage. Now that was a new one]

That would probably be one of the better orders you've ever given me.

[At the mention of Keiki Rokuta let out a snicker. He finally sat up and stretched his arms lazily over his head, looking out across the water.] Don't worry, I'm sure Keiki would make a lovely wife for you. Though I'm sure the news will break all the hearts of your brothel ladies.
