Iconic

People were always saying they couldn't figure out WTH was going on in my default icon, so perhaps this somewhat less zoomed-in version will help. Maybe. Perhaps I'll mess with it more later. Getting back to work now.

Speaking of which, I think I'm missing something in that new icon of yours. Which fascists wear/use tinsel?

It's a Bujold quote. In response to why he joined the Barrayaran military. Context here: http://www.baen.com/chapters/W200308/0743435583__10.htm

Yay, it makes sense!

I mean, I'm a hardcore FFVI fanboy and it took me forever to figure it out.

it looks like some kinda creature with green hair, facing the bottom of the screen, and...maybe..using some kinda instrument. a wooden spoon? a wand?

kinda like a gator...or a wolf, with a ...metal belly? huh.

Haven't I explained this to you before? ;) Maybe it was someone else.

Anyway, it's a Kirin, which is an asian mythological beasty kind of like a fuzzy unicorn/deer/giraffe. The green hair is its mane (and tufts on the hooves), the entire face is on the lower-left facing down, with horns/antlers on the far left.

There is no spoon. (...sorry, but with that setup...)

This particular rendition is a summoned Esper from Final Fantasy VI. Kirins can also frequently be found these days on beer.

You -did- explain it to me, but at the time I felt I had no possible chance to see what you were talking about. This time I could see it with no problem, and I'd forgotten already that you once explained your icon to me.

So, I've improved! Ah. The spoon-looking part is just the forehoof. Bah.
