Qian li zou dan qi

Last night I saw had dinner and then saw a movie with Sayaka called Qian li zou dan qi or Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles. It's set in both Japan and China, and is one of Zhang Yimou's (Hero, House of Flying Daggers) latest directorial efforts. No, absolutely not.

JUST KIDDING! Yep, definately on my recommended list. Although, I have to say; most foreign films I see are on my recommended list. Does that make me a good picker of foreign movies, or a pretentious art-house prat? You decide...

(Interestingly, when I say "foreign film" I'm thinking non-English-speaking film. So not "Aussie films versus the world" but "English-speaking films versus other-language films". I think my Cinema studies lecturer would have a field day with that.)
