1) My break is over on Monday already and then I have school again. But this time I won't be working full-time and going to school full-time so it should be a little better. I still need to find a job though2) I watched a lot of 12 kingdoms today ♥. I am now a little over half-way through. I still can't decide who my favorite character is. I ( Read more... )

I always thought bishounen = good-looking male (technically it should be boys or young men only, but I've seen it target at adults, too) in general. Sure, the first thought is the androgynous, long haired guy with impossibly pretty face, but that's just the cliché.

The kirin are awesome, and the messed up of the monarch-kirin method is so appealing to me. I knew it was Asian mythology before the series, from when I watched the Petshop of Horrors OVA. I didn't know the Chinese imagery was less dear/unicorn and more chimera, though.

Well there is the term Biseinen but I've never seen it used in fandom. I definitely think the accepted definition for bishounen is any good looking male character but a lot of fans that hate "bishounen" don't seem to realize that their favorite characters are considered bishounen by fangirls. But when you think about it there are not many bad looking characters in anime.

I love the mythology/world of 12 kingdoms it endlessly fascinates me and all the Kirin are adorable to me. I especially love Enki in your icon. Although that is partially because he is voiced by Kappei Yamaguchi. :)

I've never heard of biseinen before. Still, I don't think I'd subscribe to that term, considering there's a lot of characters in my fandoms who look like shouta jailbait but they're decades (sometimes centuries) old. Are they boys? Are they men? Are they "goddamned kids, get off my lawn!" old guys? Who the hell knows.

I think all kirin are pretty neat, but I quickly grew attached to Enki|Rokuta because he's so atypical and casual and bratty. And yeah, Kappei did a great job with him XDDDD

Well I am sure some girls would call Greed a bishounen, Bradley probably not. It more comes down to what characters girls are attracted too.

Now personally I am not attracted to anime characters except the character in my icon but I tend to like a lot of fan-girl favorites unfortunately.
