Jamie is definitely a great companion, and my favorite after Martha Jones. Of course, I haven't seen much Who, only having gotten into it late last August, but I don't see anybody being better than them.
Hehe, Two was "that Doctor" for me, too--the "where have you been all my life?" Doctor. And he, too, was the first Doctor I bought DVDs for.
Like Hogan's Heroes, it was the interactions between Two and Jamie that made me fall in love with that era. Those two have something very special, and I love seeing/hearing them interact.

Perhaps it is something about mid to late 60's television. XD
Two and Jamie really have such terrific chemistry, they are a joy for me to watch and I think that is what made me fall in love with Two's era.
I like that Twp and his companions had a real family unit. And I know it can be repetitive but I also enjoy the base under seige stories that were very much part of Two's era. They had a great tension to them, but then they also didn't shy away from humor. So for me his episodes have the perfect mixture of tension, fun, and cuteness from the Doctor/Companion interactions.
