Let's just say I have been watching a lot more Classic Who recently. At the moment I've been mostly delving into the 2nd Doctor & a bit of the 1st Doctor. Although I've seen quite a bit of the 3rd and 4th as well ( Read more... )

I haven't seen much of Classic Who at all, only the Second Doctor serial "The Krotons," with Jamie, Zoe and Two that I enjoyed a lot. I really need to see more Classic Who. A good website is dailymotion, they seem to have a lot of Doctor Who shows. This doesn't include newer stuff like the Doctors revisited or any of the 50th documentaries that were on BBC last fall. I think I shall save this list as a sort of recommendation. So, while Two is my favorite Classic Doctor so far, I'm a bit biased. XD

Well you've only seen Two so of course he is your favorite :)

I think my favorites are Two, Four, and 11, but I am quite fond of most of the Doctors and my favorites depend on my mood I think. Right now I am definitely in a Two mood.

I definitely recommend watching some of Four's serials. Check out some of his early ones with Sarah Jane Smith. There is a good reason they are so popular with fans. :)

I've also seen Ten and Eleven though-- my first ever episode was with Eleven a couple of years ago, but I really like Ten/Martha.

I am not the hugest fan of 10 but I do like Martha. Actually 10 is fine I just didn't always like how the writers wrote him (I am in the minority though because I think Tennant is the favorite of New Who)

I'd highly, highly recommend the Seventh Doctor stuff, it's my favourite period of Doctor Who ever. All the stupid mid-80s excess and cynicism has gone and it's just wonderful. The team of Seven and Ace is absolutely unbeatable, and the stories are very imaginative and interesting, and in some regards much more complex and mature than you'd expect. Try Remembrance of the Daleks or The Greatest Show in the Galaxy to get you started.

You've got to see the Fifth Doctor stories Kinda and Snakedance, then The Black Guardian Trilogy (Mawdryn Undead, Terminus, Enlightenment) imo. I think it'll give you a more solid idea of what that era was about. There was a lot of interesting stuff in his period.

As for the Third Doctor, I'd highly recommend the rest of season seven with the fantastic Liz Shaw (as you've already seen Spearhead, that leaves The Silurians, The Ambassadors of Death and Inferno). Jo gets better as she goes along - try The Sea Devils, Carnival of Monsters and The Green DeathFor a good spread of Fourth Doctor stuff and his ( ... )

Sorry for the late reply!

I am at least going to watch the 7th Doctor episode they put up on The Doctors Revisited, so depending on that I will watch more.

As for Five its not that I dislike him or even the storytelling: The Caves of Androzani was excellent after all, but I am not too into his companions and I've realized the companions in some ways are more important than the Doctor.

I ended up watching the Two Doctors (more Jamie & two) so I guess I get more of Colin Baker that way. Still will never be my favorite but if I ignore the awful costume he isn't too bad.

Also I am watching the Three Doctors too and yeah Jo is better than I last remembered her. I think after I get through more of One & Two I might get back to Three's stuff. I've heard very good things about Inferno so that might be next,

But Thanks for the Recs :)

edit: Also I just learned they were releasing the Moon Base so I am excited about that, to see Polly & Ben (and early Jamie & Two) . I hope it will be on Itunes though.
