I've been Watching Shounen

Both One Piece & Hunter X Hunter

I decided to watch One Piece because I am way behind on the manga and I thought it might be nice to watch the anime instead, so I waited until the time skip episode started (which I where I stopped with the manga). In general I kind of prefer the manga because it is faster paced but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the seiyuu cast ( Read more... )

I definitely will only follow the anime for a time. I just haven't been in the mood to read manga scanlations Online and i think watching the anime will be more relaxing for me, at least for now. I am sure I will switch and go back to reading the manga eventually (as I said above most likely when filler starts up again). You are right the anime is way too slow (I originally stopped watching it for the same reason) but maybe since I don't know what is happening that won't bother me as much this time around.

I am actually kind of wondering if they are doing this 2nd adaption of Hunter X Hunter because Togashi actually plans to finish the series soon. It's been a really long time since I read the manga so I barely remember most of it but I do remember it being an enjoyable series. But I doubt I'll keep up with it because it's so long. I am lazy and like my shorter series (that is also why even though I do enjoy manga I end up watching more anime because the series in general are shorter).

Whoa! They really do look older. How far ahead did they timeskip? And why did they all go their separate ways in the first place?

The time skip is only supposed to be 2 years. As for why did they separate, originally it was not by choice, a villain teleported them to different places.

But in the end Luffy decided it was best for them to train on their own for awhile so he left a message for them to meet up at a certain place in 2 years time.

I tend to fall behind One Piece and then pick it up again. It's not without faults but out of all the long running series it is by far the best. It is actually consistently entertaining and never feels like it is dragging on.

I don't necessarily care for all the minor characters in the story but I do love all the Straw Hats at least. :)

>I just feel bad for my DVR because there is so much I want to watch and yet so little time to watch it all.

My feelings exactly. There were some new series that I wanted to start watching this year, such as the new "Charlie's Angels" and "Terra Nova," but I simply don't have the time to start up any new series with all of the ones I already watch. And poor Richard-- I haven't seen Family Feud in months and Match Game in weeks.

My DVR is only filled with movies from TCM, I gave up on TV series a long time ago (except some British ones that are shorter than their American equivalents). Well I did watch Game of Thrones not to long ago (an HBO series) but I knew what to expect of that since I read the books.

I haven't watched Match Game and Feud either. Match Game has reran the same episodes 3 or 4 times already and I have all my favorites recorded. Last time I checked Feud was in repeats too.

Besides TCM, I mainly watch anime but those are short & sweet and you know exactly how many episodes they will be beforehand.
