I've been Watching Shounen
Both One Piece & Hunter X Hunter
I decided to watch One Piece because I am way behind on the manga and I thought it might be nice to watch the anime instead, so I waited until the time skip episode started (which I where I stopped with the manga). In general I kind of prefer the manga because it is faster paced but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the seiyuu cast for One Piece so it was a real treat hearing them all again.
I had already been spoiled for the new character designs beforehand but it was still quite a shock seeing everyone grown up. But it made me all sentimental. I can't wait to see the Crew together again. I was so happy when Nami and Usopp met up.
Well I am going to try to watch it at least until a filler arc starts up, then I might try to catch up with the manga again.
I think they were trying to create We Are here. It's a nice opening but definitely no We Are
As for Hunter X Hunter I never watched the original anime (except for maybe 1 episode) but I did read quite a bit of the manga and enjoyed it. I think I did get bored of it after awhile and the manga-ka took frequent hiatuses so I never really felt like catching up with it again but with this new series I thought why not? It is streaming on Cruncyroll after all.
I am not really sure I will continue watching this new series for long but it might be fun to watch for a little bit. As I mentioned previously my favorite thing about Hunter X Hunter is the friendship between Gon & Killua. The new version seems to be adapting material at a fast pace so I am hoping we will meet up with Killua soon.
I also get the feeling from the 1st episode that the anime team for Hunter X Hunter is trying to give the series a One Piece feel. Well with One Piece's popularity in Japan that isn't exactly surprising.
I like the opening but the ending is awful!
In Other new Buster Keaton as Star of the Month on TCM is starting up in a 1/2 hour. I am so freaking exciting. I just feel bad for my DVR because there is so much I want to watch and yet so little time to watch it all.
