POW Films

This is a bit late (because I just realized it) but tonight (starting now actually at 8:00 PM EST) TCM is showing a night of lesser known POW films (as in not Stalag 17 or Great Escape probably the two best known ones)

The first one is one I have not seen is The Wooden Horse (1950)

Wow, I'm a little amazed that they turned the gymnastics into a movie. I saw this story on a documentary once.

Well don't they turn everything into a movie? :)

It was an interesting movie, although I did miss quite a bit of it because I was on my laptop and only half paying attention. Luckily it is on youtube so I am going to try to catch some scenes I missed.

True- they do turn lots of historical events into movies. I have seen some other war movies- "Glory," set during the Civil War, and "Saving Private Ryan."

I wonder if it's at my library? It would be wroth checking out.

Yes I did, although I have definitely seen better films on the subject. I did enjoy it overall.
