I'm more of a Notorious kind of girl, but maybe it's because there are Nazis in it, and movies with Nazis in it are inherently awesome.
On the other hand, James Mason. &hears;
Can't decide which Hitchcock is my favourite. I think Rear Window and Vertigo are his finest moment, but boy I love Notorious, and Shadow of a Doubt (one of my first incest OTPs, yay!) and I have this stupid soft spot for To Catch a Thief. OMG I LOVE TO CATCH A THIEF.
Nazis make great villains. At times I think they are overused but in Notorious it was great because the idea of them still being a threat was fresh and new.
And Charlie & Charlie ♥. I don't ship them but I can totally see the attraction. Shadow of a Doubt is also a favorite of mine.
To Catch a Thief is one of Hitchcock's most lighthearted and fun films. It's not a favorite of mine but it takes a lot for me to not enjoy a Cary Grant film to some degree.
But I definitely think NxNW is Grant's second best Hitch film. They are both fantastic films with great supporting cast, but to me his role in Notorious takes him to places he had never been before as an actor. One of his finest performances.
I've waited for a long time to write it up because I wanted to wait until I got a chance to see it on the big screen. Well, after this Friday...
LOL yeah I would say I have a pretty good guess. ;)
I still have never seen a classic film on a large screen. It's now one of my goals in life. Oddly enough we don't seem to have a lot of opportunities for it here in Phila. I will look forward to your post. :)
