Why does that sound like pseudo-research to me, like someone trying to sound deep and insightful but isn't? -_-;; I guess that's one of the consequences of people outside a cultural subgroup, trying to look inside. *sigh*

And you are talking about the FMA manga right? If so I'll need to keep an eye out for the next Chinese scan that comes out. :D

It looks like he talked to some guy who writes an Otaku magazine and got all his research from that which is not real research at all. And I wouldn't be surprised if he took half the quotes out of context like the "moral free zone" thing. Well this is the difference between something scholarly and non-scholarly. The problem is this junk is what most people see and what they base their opinion on.

And yep the FMA manga. I'm up-to-date on the RAWS but a little behind on the translations. :)

Unfortunately the American culture tends to swing sharply between over-sexualized or anti-sexualized, neither of which is particularly healthy, while both sides criticize each other with little understanding, or any real desire to do so.

I definitely agree with this, I think America's obsession with sex (both the Pro and Con groups) is a little unnerving. It's a natural part of life and shouldn't be covered up but it doesn't have to be all we focus on.

And Pride is so awesomely evil
