Field Trip is aces. I always think season 6 goes into a tiny slump right near the end (The Unnatural does nothing for me at all, mainly because baseball just isn't played over here - and Three of a Kind just outstays its welcome), but it picks up in time for one of the better season finales. And I love forest episodes too! Especially Detour which has some absolutely lovely Mulder/Scully stuff in it.

I do really like the Unnatural (despite not having a lot of Mulder and Scully). It's actually my favorite of the Duchovny/Anderson created episodes. And the ending ranks as one of my favorites up there with Post Modern Prometheus.

But Three of a Kind I am not a huge fan of.

And yes Detour is an absolute favorite of mine. Admittedly the monsters could be better but I love the execution of that episode and The Scully/Mulder scene when she is singing to him is one of my favorite moments of them. I also love the beginning when they are about to go to a work conference. :)

I'm totally prepared to accept The Unnatural is a good episode, but the complete lack of baseball in the UK means that it has no real resonance with me and I find it hard to connect to it. I adore The Post Modern Prometheus, though. Absolutely wonderful episode.

I remember being quite scared by the Detour monsters as a kid, but not so much now. I think they're more of a device really, with the episode about Mulder and Scully's relationship. Quite right too considering the shit they'd just been through.

Well you know I like Milagro but I agree about the other season 6 episodes. Arcadia was funny but there are other funnier episodes that are better written (like Bad Blood and Small Potatoes). Arcadia just felt too much like a fanfiction and the monster was horribly disappointing. I think all it did was show that Mulder and Scully in a normal relationship would be wrong and sort of scary.

But Paper Hearts is absolute love. It's one of my favorite episodes.

And speaking of great episodes, I just watched Pusher :)

I would like to be the director I think. It just seems to be the most interesting job. You get your hands in a little bit of everything.

From student directing in HS, yes "hands in a little bit of everything" just about sums it up. It's really fun overall though XD
