Have a Very Happy Birthday Nefadol

1. Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance, like a lyric to your current favorite song, your favorite kind of sandwich, or maybe your favorite game. Any remark, meaningless or not.
2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your own post.
5. When others respond with a desultory comment, you will ask them five questions.

Questions from avianthropy

1. What was the last book you read?

The last book I finished was One Hundered Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez but I can't say I liked it very much. Now I am reading North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell which I think I will enjoy more because I loved the BBC Miniseries.

2. What's on your desk right now?

A mess LOL but more specifically a lot of envelopes, pens, a notebook, a water bottle, my glasses case, a calculator....well you get the idea.

3. Is there any talent you really wish you had?

I wish I had a talent :)

But more seriously I wish I had a talent that I could contribute to fandom in some way (like be able to draw). As it is I only can discuss things I enjoy.

4. If you could travel to any point in history anywhere in the world, when and where would you go?

When I was younger I used to wish I could go back in time and kill Hitler. But thinking about it now I don't think that would be a good idea. Of course I wish the Holocaust would never take place but I have a feeling no matter what it would have taken place even if not then, maybe later.

So now I think it might be neat to go back to the 80's when I was a child. Watching Life on Mars got me thinking this.

5. What's your field of study, and how did you choose it?

Right now I am studying Library Science. I've always been interested in it because I am a book worm and I love that it deals a lot with technology and computers. But I also think it was a natural progression from working in academic publishing and liking the academic part of it but not the business side (even though I had a business major from undergrad).

Questions from abarero

1. Who would be the famous person (dead or alive) that you would most want to meet and why?

The first person that came to my mind was Audrey Hepburn. She is my absolute favorite actress and I would have loved to have met her.

I also would have liked to see the Beatles (when John and George were still alive) perform live.

2. You're involved in a stage production. Where would I find you? (Stage Director/Backstage crew? In the Orchestra Pit? On stage as one of the performers? Producer/BoxOffice crew?)

I would like to be the director I think. It just seems to be the most interesting job. You get your hands in a little bit of everything.

3. A karaoke competition has a prize you want so badly you enter it. What's your "sure fire win" song you sing for the contest?

Ha Ha I definitely would not win but I think maybe Hey Jude from the Beatles.

4. What's your biggest pet peeve when at a restaurant?

Seeing any cockroaches :(

5. What wild animal would you most like to have as a pet if you could?

I would love to have a pygmy marmoset because they are small monkeys that can fit in your pocket. I would also love to have a fruit bat. Ever since I've been to Australia I've been in love with them.

I've also been continuing to watch my X-Files DVDs. It's always great when you can skip the episodes you dislike and the focus on the ones you love (I want to try to make a favorite episode list but that will come later).

But what's even better is discovering an episode you didn't remember loving and falling in love with it all over again. This happened to me with Field Trip from Season 6. Which might even be my favorite episode of season 6. Season 6 is very good in general except for Scully's haircut but I like this episode because it feels more like an older X-Files episode to me. Also I have a penchant for Forest episodes (Darkness Falls, Detour, Quagmire).

Of course the episode has some things that don't make logical sense (two people have the same hallucination) but I love how the episode starts off with Mulder and Scully having the usual argument over the paranormal and scientific outcome (and Mulder saying he was right 98.9% of the time LOL)and then ending up with showing us how much these two characters have effected each other's views on things. Sorry I just wanted to fangirl.

So yeah there are other things I want to watch and finish but X-Files has taken over my mind lately. I wish this had happened sooner to the movie.

Anyways I am finally done with finals so I guess I am on Spring Break :) But I have so many things I need to get done that I think it will go by quickly.
