Odd you mention Rose of Versailles, because I happened to finish it last night. There must be some cosmic alignment. It was fine, although it felt kinda like watching a telenovela XD (a GOOD one, nonetheless)

Yes I agree it can be a bit melodramatic at times. But then it was a shoujo series from the 70's. :D

It really did have a lot of influence on shoujo didn't it. :)

Although I still never saw Revolutionary Girl Utena which I know was really influenced by the series.

I actually watched a few episodes of the first season of Robin Hood when it first aired (because I love the story of Robin Hood in general) but I got bored with it after awhile and I was following too many other things at the time but I remember being intrigued by Richard Armitage's character. He had a lot of screen presence.

And after seeing him in this role I think they should have picked him instead of Matthew Macfayden to play Mr. Darcy in the 2005 movie. I think he is the only one that can compete with Colin Firth in the type of role. At least from what I've seen.

And I did really love Jane Eyre (best adaptation of the book I saw) but it still wasn't perfect. The scene when Jane is leaving Mr. Rochester was a way too sensual. Although the ending of that miniseries was adorable and made me terribly happy. :)

And yes Daniela was also lovely and perfectly cast. Also thanks for the rec of Vanity Fair. ♥

AWWW

"It Happened One Night" is an awesome movie ! one of my oldies favorite ! This scene is fantastic ! and I had no ideia that it inspired the creation of bugs bunny ! Now I'm felling nostalgic too, Im going to watch "The apartment " !

Ah Apartment I also love that movie. I am sort of sad because there is no where to rent old movies around me anymore and I don't have the money to join an online service at the moment. :(

I just found out about the Bugs Bunny thing the other day. In the scene you can see Clarke Gable's character talking fast and eating carrots and apparently that is one of the things that inspired the creation of Bugs. :D
