I received an email today to apply for a scholarship. $31,000 dollars a year for the remainder of my college education. I can't even imagine having that kind of money for college. It is so beautiful here. The snow has stuck to everything and the trees are a glistening white. We had school off yesterday and in parts the snow went past my knees when I went trugging through it. It's saddening to see how drugs can become the focal point of people's lives, especially when they refuse to acknowledge it. I try not to be judgmental about it and just accept that at least it's not as bad as it could be. But that in itself is judging, dammit. My eyelids froze shut this morning. It is absolutely bitter here. I'm off to the cities today, I am not feeling well but am glad to get out of here for at least a little while. Today I went to the U of MN campus in the cities for a F.A.C.E. and Democracy Matters student summit. It was absolutely amazing. F.A.C.E., or fair and clean elections, is a group that advocates campaign finance reform. Democracy Matters is a national group of which my college has a chapter of.
