Yay, an update! :) I really enjoyed this chapter, with all of the yummy action that took place, and I loved how you used the thunderstorm as a backdrop. It added a nice level of tension.

Favorite lines:

The oncoming storm lingers and grows, the air damp and thick, heat swirling under the cap of deep gray clouds as if the world's anticipating the heaviness of this simple meeting.

Beautiful description there.

Stewart Hall isn't as either imagined.

I like that he wasn’t a cliché villain, that his appearance and mannerisms took them by surprise.

Raindrops fall like pellets; large, moist tears of the sky.

More good description here.

When it comes to his family, there is no line -- to him, there is no question of morality or rightness where his family's safety is concerned. Asked to walk into hell itself and he gladly would if it meant giving them even one more day of life.Love this, because it’s so darn accurate. Dean would do anything for his family. Great statement here from Dean. I really enjoyed all of his and Hall’s dialogue. They each had interesting things to say.

That exchange was one of the most fun to write, ever. It actually came to me way back when I was still writing chapter 2.1, and I just had to get it out.

See, I told you not to get your hopes up about me liking John now.

Hey -- you did for a chapter, and that's enough for me!

Aww, thank you! I'm so glad people are enjoying it. It's not exactly mainstream, so I was afraid not many people would give it a chance. ;)

Aw, Dean. It's what he had to do, and Hall WAS a monster, but oh DEAN. So beautifully written, as always, and incredibly gripping. Brava!

*g* I love playing with dualities -- Hall's insanity versus the Winchester's quest -- and how they're the same yet different. Twas the whole point! *g*

Oh god, poor Dean.

Even knowing it had to happen, my heart still aches for its necessity.
