Okay, I'm still reeling from the last chapter, and now this. That John and his fucked-up logic. Man. Just walking away here. All good stuff, but I'm itching to smack John something awful. Just...itching.

*laughs* You've gotta get in line behind a whole lot of people to smack him down. :)

He takes a mental snapshot of Dean before he walks away.

Next time he sees his son, he'll be a different man.

This made my insides clench, because it is so true. This goes way beyond simply ending one life to save many. This is going to change their lifes too.

Beautiful work again and I'm eagerly looking forward to the next chapter (and the sequel of course where we find out how come Dean had Fae in him).

Dean's going to be different -- I wanted to show the beginning of his evolution to who he became near the end of the first season. Plus, I'm a backstory whore.

The sequel's in the works. Right now, Dean and Sam are arguing. Mwahaha!

Dean learned to hide everything he felt in a tiny box in the back of his mind. All his dreams and emotions, those words he really wanted to say but was afraid to -- in essence, himself. Locked away where he could forget they even existed.

He reaches in there now, exchanging pain and that deep exhaustion of the soul for everything he's repressed. Lets it loose in one tsunami of resentment and anger that drives him to his feet. Oh, Dean ( ... )

There's definatly going to be a lot of fall-out, and hopefully, it matches up with the show, as I designed the fic to fit in with the beginning of the series, character-wise.

And the last chapter? Was such a thrill to write.

And please, come on in and kick his ass!

That was a wonderful chapter filled with tension and wonderful lines. But the one that flew off the screen and hit me straight in the heart was this..

>> "I'll meet you at the car," John finally concedes.

He takes a mental snapshot of Dean before he walks away.

Next time he sees his son, he'll be a different man.

:-( *sniff*

John finally realized he had to let go -- and maybe, he just will carry it a little too far...
