Super contrived noodle incidents happen with Angela. I think Paolini imagines them to be clever. They're not.

Oooh, this reminds me of all the noodle incidents I have in my book. I haven't decided if I should explain them or not.

A decent writer could actually make USE of Errbegone's lack of existence/persona before Syphillia showed up, it may have potentially even helped explain his selfishness and sociopathic behaviour. Bah. But considering Pao named him one letter away from "dragon", one mustn't expect much in the way of actual personality.
