We were some of the last people in the world (California) to reach the new year, but yes we finally got there!  This past end of the year there didn't seem to be as many low tension posts on my flist as I noticed in '07, but nonetheless I feel that it'd be good anyway to include positive things that have happened to me in my fandoms this past year

2008 was definitely Uchi's year♥
Although he didn't have much public interactions with Kanjani8 as I would have thought, I'm happy to see him back being active at least!

Yes I'm so happy that he's gotten some work and is active. It was so awesome to see him performing as a singer and dancer again <3 Let's hope there are some more interactions with Kanjani8 in the future!!

K8-wise, my favourite moments were:

- 'Wahaha', because it made K8 click for me. Before that, I wasn't that into them. Now I'm addicted, and all their other songs clicked for me. ♥
- Every 'Ariehen Sekai' episode. I seriously love that show. They cover some very interesting stuff. (And it doesn't have as much gravure or as many 'whores' as people say. It does feature some, but a lot of episodes are about interesting jobs or strange real estate. And Ferrari Prince FTW.)

And I love watching Maru spazz, Hina tsukkomi, and Yasu wear increasingly interesting outfits. ♥ XD
- Inagawa Junji Janiben for the Maru spazz.
- Ichikawa Shunen Janiben for the onnagata challenge.
- 'Musekinin Hero' for all of its duet goodies, the awesome promo (especially the hilarious 'Y~oi, Don!' HinaMaru appearance) and its massive success.
- 'Last Friends', 'Yasuko to Kenji', etc. Dramas! ♥
- Success of 47 on Oricon.
- Maru and Yasu's SCPs.
- Maru's appearances on SC. 'Ai tte?'! Bass/beat-box combo! ♥

And for New Year's, I ended up hanging out at home. lol.

OH, almost forgot! Loved the Matsuzaki Shigeru Janiben for his Eito love songs. lol forever ♥

Yes yes those Janibens were priceless! Such greatness occurs there! And as for Ariehen Sekai I haven't downloaded any episodes recently, but I always thought it was nice to see those 3 holding their own show and some of the interesting stuff they discover in it. Some things are totally strange and out of this world XD

Wa Ha Ha is so much love <3 I immediately took to the song and fell in love with it. Even hearing it on the Countdown made me miss it <3 And yes all of those other things are fantastic too for sure <3

Nothing wrong with hanging out at home--lounging and chilling out is the best XD

Ahh yes the Toda effect on Hina <3 I think it is quite a good effect indeed :D

Hooray for karaoke! My sister told me about this karaoke place in SF, but I don't know if I'd ever go without us singing in a large group, or maybe just me and my best friend hehe

I agree with you there--I feel like it was promoted by fans as well. But yes I have to admit that I do support the pairing if in fact it is true XD
